Dear members
A few things to consider before this year’s AGM.
a.. The Committee and Officers of the Club are elected at the AGM and any
club member with voting rights has the right to make not more than one
nomination, with the written consent of the candidate, for election as one of
the Committee members.
a.. The Officers of the Club are the Secretary, the Treasurer and the
Chairman. The Officers of the Club are elected at the AGM in accordance with
Rule 9.3. The election of the Officers is rotation with the Chairman and
Treasurer being elected one year and the Secretary being elected the following
year. The Chairman shall be elected from within the Committee by the duly
elected Officers and Committee Members in accordance with rule 15.2. What that
means is that this year Fred Pell is standing down as Treasurer, and Chris is
standing down as Chairman. My post as Secretary will be retained until the 2015
AGM.
a.. With regard to the post of Honorary President, the Membership elects
person to the role of Honorary President of the Club at alternative AGMs. The
person appointed holds the post from the end of the AGM for two years (until
the end of the next but one AGM). As the last election took place at the 2012
AGM nominations will be required for this post at this year’s AGM.
