Dear member The RFU GRAND DRAW takes place every
season, the draw being made towards the end of the season. This season is the
10th anniversary. It’s a great source of revenue for grass roots
clubs, with £9 out of every £10 finding its way back into Club funds as a tax
free donation. There are some cracking prizes. The first prize is £10,000 and
there are over 30 prizes, including more cash,in the main category, with a
separate Club draw taking place amongst all Clubs selling more than £150 worth
of tickets.
I
have an initial first allocation of 450 tickets, all with a face value of £1,
all with an equal chance of being pulled out of the hat.
Last season we sold around £200 worth of tickets and around £180 of that was
used
by the Club to help fund our activities. This season we want to do much better,
despite having no clubhouse to display the Grand Draw in our communications are
better than they’ve ever been.
Over the next week or so I'll be asking team managers and coaches to help sell
and
distribute the tickets we've received. If sales are healthy enough I’ll apply
for more. There are some clubs who rake in thousands of pounds every year from
the Grand Draw. Let's see if we can do the same. Regards
