Knoppix might do it.  I'm not sure of the domain logon situation, but you 
could certainly do a direct server login.  With the network card situation 
though, you might consider just moving the hard drive to either another 
laptop, or just getting one of those laptop IDE -> standard IDE plugs and 
copying the data that way.
