The subject says it all, though I’ll probably have to wait until January to
spend the $70 required for FSX and IYP.
For the record, I’m not exactly a newbie, hearing about blind pilots simming
before IYP with the horror that was FSNavigator. COmpared to IYP, it was a
nightmare, folks. No voice control, had to use the jaws curser, and learn how
to basically read the instruments with your screen reader in real time whilst
reacting to them. Needless to say, that didn’t last long for me.
I’ve forgotten about simming, although I’ve now got a better computer that’ll
be able to handle FSX.
Question: I like these addons that attempt to gamify the sim experience like
FSPassengers, etc. However, FSX has its very own career mode, or missions per
say. Would these work with IYP?
Failing that, do people still use the IYP online features? Are they still
available? I go and check the IYP flight tracker from time to time and there’s
always no one on it. Is this across all online modes, or just the Come Fly with
Me mode?
When it comes to simming, my goal is to eventually get online so have a lot of
questions about online, VAs, IYP’s online features and such. Speaking of IYP’s
online features again, are the tours online? I enjoyed reading about the
descriptions about them on the website, but when I fly them does IYP actually
tell me this info as I’m flying it? What is the IYP FLight School academy?
There is only one mention of this on the website, and that’s on the support
forum, which I’ve registered for if only to see old posts on there, if it isn’t
being used anymore.
Lastly, what Virtual Airlines tollerate blind people on them these days? I know
Zack from the internet at least, who is with Delta, though Virtual United looks
pretty cool as well. I wonder if, perhaps, we can get some of them to basically
have some kind of indicator that we’re BVI, so ATC who don’t like IYP’s
teleportation Taxi routine don’t have to bother with us.
I could also fly offline like Zack is doing, and he does that to probably avoid
this problem, but I’d rather fly online with as little hastle as possible with
real ATC simmers. But, if I must fly offline, how does Acairs logging system
work on other VAs when not using IYPVA?
Thanks for the help all, hope I can pay the money and get into this and use IYP
for the first time soon.
Oh, and Jordin, I’ve scene some of your Youtube videos, good job for ost of
them, except when the engine drowns out your voice so much that you may as well
be muted, although there’s probably not much you can do for that. What is your
setup for Youtube videos? My Youtube account has live streaming enabled, so
I’ve thought about doing that. How do you record videos with IYP and FSX, for
starters? I’d love to record me doing the quickstart flights and basically the
whole nine yards as I learn it.
