I did as you instructed me. I uninstalled IYP, deleted the
userconfig.ini file before reinstalling, however, I couldn't find the
folder entitled 2.0 in my simulator's route folder.
After reinstalling IYP, nothing really changed. I activated flight
following, cargo flight following and GA flight following, but no
matter where I am flying to, there's no flight following announcement
throughout my flights. This goes for FS2004, as well as for FSX, as I
have both of them on my machine.
Is there anything I did wrong or missed? I'm sure there was a folder
entitled 2.0 in my simulator's route folder, but I am not able to find
it anymore. It might be hidden, but I don't think so...

1. There will be no Flight-Following announcements when the
Flight-Following announcements feature has been disabled by saying,
"Deactivate Flight Following". To activate say, "Activate Flight
Following".
2. There will be no Flight-Following announcements when flying a cargo
plane, since there are no passengers unless the feature is forced on by
saying, "Activate Cargo Flight Following".
3. There will be no Flight-Following announcements when flying over large
bodies of water since there are no people or cities below the aircraft.
If all of the foregoing are properly set, and Flight-Following still does
not operate, then do the following:
1. Uninstall IYP via the Windows Uninstall programs facility.
2. Delete the folder entitled: 2.0 as set for in the diagnostics section
here:
http://www.itsyourplane.com/diagnostics.asp
and follow the instructions entitled:
If we ask that you DELETE the 2.0 Folder
3. IMPORTANT: Delete the file entitled:
iyp_user_config.ini
located in the root FSX folder.
Reinstall IYP.
NOTES:
Once this file has been deleted all settings will be set back to their
default values.
You will need to enter your Name, E-Mail address and REG KEY, so have those
ready before proceeding with the re-installation.
Do not forget to activate the BVI mode by saying... "Blind Pilots Mode On".

It also doesn't echo back when I change the altitude during a flight.
Actually no problem because it automatically contacts ATC while climbing
or descending, but I am really wondering about the flight following
announcements, why they don't work.

I am Patrick and I am using IYP for quite a while now. I'm usually
flying IFR flights with direct GPS routing. In the voice commands
lists, I read about flight following. It says that I can always envoke
my copilot to make a flight following announcement by saying "make a
flight following announcement". So far, so good, but it doesn't work.
In fact, it only gives me the usual clicking sound, but nothing in

following announcements are concerned.
I always have a cruising altitude of something over 20000 feet with
cargo/passenger airlines such as the boeing, and the with general
aviation aircrafts mike should already start giving flight following
announcements after reaching 3000 feet.
Is there anything I did wrong? Is it possible that the required data
for flight following announcements for IYP is missing, does all that
belong to the database which might need an update?
I hope somebody can help me.
