This morning, Larry French and I birded Kinser Park (KP), Paint Creek
Recreation Area (PCRA), and Paint Mountain (PM), all in Greene County. In the
evening, I tallied a few additional observations in the Greeneville-Tusculum
area. Highlights of the day included:
Ruffed Grouse (PCRA)
Osprey (PCRA--an odd location; the bird probably flew up from the French Broad
River)
Cooper's Hawk (2)
Broad-winged Hawk (PCRA)
Great Horned Owl (Tusculum College)
Eastern Kingbird (along Holly Creek in Tusculum)
Blue-headed Vireo (7)
Common Raven (2, PCRA)
House Wrren (3)
Ruby-crowned Kinglet (PCRA)
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher (7)
Northern Parula (9, PCRA)
Yellow-rumped Warbler (2)
Black-throated Green Warbler (25, PCRA, PM)
Yellow-throated Warbler (3, PCRA)
Pine Warbler (3)
Black-and-white Warbler (PCRA)
Prothonotary Warbler (3, KP)
Worm-eating Warbler (2, PCRA, PM)
