Hawkins County (John Sevier Fossil Plant (JSFP) and vicinity, and various other spots along and near the Holston River between Highway 70 and Van Hill Road)

For a couple of hours late this morning, until about noon, I birded a few areas in Hawkins County that I thought might be productive. Results were pretty good:

Canada Goose (11);
Gadwall (3 on McKinney Chapel Road);
Wild Turkey (30 on Highway 347 south of the Holston River);
Great Blue Heron (JSFP);
Black Vulture (7);
Osprey (JSFP);
Ring-billed Gull (14 JSFP);
Eastern Phoebe (Dru Hanes Road);
Tree Swallow (13 JSFP) (my earliest northeast Tennessee date by five days);
Palm Warbler (7 JSFP).
