This afternoon,(Sunday, February 27)

A trip to western Greene County provided some excellent finds which
included:
Ross's Geese - 2 (Green Road)
Canada Goose - many
Wood Duck - 18
Mallard - 4
Northern Shoveler - 6
Green-Winged Teal - 6
Great Blue Heron - 1
Red-Winged Blackbird - 40
Eastern Towhee - 1
Northern Harrier - 6(Lick Creek)
Red-Tailed Hawk - 2
Cooper's Hawk - 1
American Kestrel - 3
Mourning Dove - many
American Woodcock - 4
Red-Headed Woodpecker - 2 (Green Road)
Northern Flicker - 1
Horned Lark - many
American Pipit - many
Eastern Bluebird - 2
American Robin - 3
Song Sparrow - 1
European Starling - many
Carolina Wren - 1
Highlights of the day included observing two American Kestrels with prey,
Northern Harriers hunting, and "displaying" American Woodcocks.

Participants were Don Holt, Diane Draper, Ellen Parker, Charlie Parker
Piney Flats
