Friday afternoon, I saw a male/female pair of Hooded Mergansers, 4 Mallards, 1
Gadwall, 12 Canada Geese, and a Ring-billed Gull at Stuart's Pond in Russell
county, VA. My wife and I went out of town before I had a chance to post.
This afternoon, when we were driving though Abingdon, we saw 3 male/female
pairs of Redheads along with 2 male/female pairs of Ring-necked Ducks on the
Crabtree Pond. This is the pond on the right side of U.S. 19 as you head north
out of Abingdon.
