* BEER STYLES BINGO IS BACK
Join Owen Ogletree and The Beer Wench for an exciting and informative session
of Beer Bingo - Saturday, May 2, 3-5 PM at Aromas in Athens, GA AND Sunday, May
3, 3-5 PM at Twain's Billiard & Tap in Decatur, GA. Taste 10 amazing beers from
the pubs and try to match each beer to its correct style. This is a fun way to
enjoy delicious beer and educate yourself on styles. (The Decatur event
duplicates the Athens one.) Owen and Kerri have written some outrageous
limericks for clues, and there will be cool beer-related prizes for the top
scorers - including a pair of reservations to next year's coveted Atlanta Cask
Ale Tasting! Athens attendees also get a free collector's pint glass, while the
Decatur crowd has the option of a free Twain's pint of beer or beer sampler

* CRAFT BEER WEEK BEER DINNER - MAY 12
Trust me, if you love great beer, you will NOT miss our upcoming Athens, GA
beer dinner in celebration of American Craft Beer Week. The event will be
hosted by Owen Ogletree and includes four delicious courses and four of the
best US craft beers available. Beers will include a special cask of Terrapin's
new 90 Shelling Scotch Ale on dark oak and Stone's 11th anniversary Sublimely
Self Righteous Black IPA! Four passes to the coveted 2009 Atlanta Cask Ale
Tasting will be given away, and all attendees get a free Terrapin pint glass,
free admission to Terrapin Tuesday Bluegrass after the dinner, and Craft Beer
Week literature. All this for only $45 +tax/tip. Seats are very limited and

* BEER WARS ON THURSDAY
The "Beer Wars" documentary movie is coming to a theater near you for one night
only - this Thursday, April 16. The movie chronicles the current state of the
American beer industry, and anyone with any passing interest in beer should be
certain to attend. In Athens, GA the movie will be at Beechwood Cinemas on Alps
Road at 8 PM - come see us there.

* 5 SEASONS / TERRAPIN JOINT VENTURE
5 Seasons (Sandy Springs) and Terrapin have produced a Belgian-style Farmhouse
Ale together. This Saison, in keeping with the farmhouse tradition, uses wild
flower honey from Glover Family Farmers in Douglasville, GA. The beer will be
dry and probably a little higher in gravity than most - using Uk Golding,
Hallertau, and Saaz hops. This Saison will be featured on Monday, May 18th at 5
Seasons Sandy Springs. The event will include participation of three local
farmers promoting their CSA and the SLO Food Movement. 5 Seasons' Kevin
McNerney adds, "We are excited about brewing this traditional style and
promoting the local organic farm industry. We hope you to have a great crowd
out to enjoy this special beer on May 18th."
* FROM TRAPPEZE IN ATHENS, GA
- April 15th - Brooklyn Brewery has recently released their Black Ops which is
a massive stout that has been aged in Bourbon barrels. Black Ops is released in
extremely limited quantities and there were only a handful of bottles that made
their way to Georgia. We have decided to celebrate this ordinarily unhappy tax
day by pouring this delicious beer and selling it by the glass so that as many
of our customers as possible can try it. Stop by tomorrow and taste this very
rare and excellent beer. We will be offering 6oz pours for $6 and Black Ops
will be available from 4:00pm till the last bottle is poured. Relax. Your taxes
are done. Reward yourself with a Black Ops.
- April 22nd - 6:00pm - Trappeze will be tapping a cask of Sweetwater's Sweet
Georgia Brown Ale. Sweet Georgia Brown is an outstanding Brown Ale that
features rich roasted malts that deliver complex toasted flavors ranging from
brown sugar to dark fruits to fresh baked bread. This bold ale is expertly well
balanced with fresh hops that come through the middle and carry into the
finish. Sweet Georgia Brown is sure to be a treat on cask so make your plans to
join us for this great beer!
* SWEETWATER 420 FEST
Atlanta-area beer lovers should mark their calendars for the annual Sweetwater
420 Fest on April 18-19 at Candler Park. The popular event will include
environmental workshops, activities and live music for all ages. Of course,

* TACO MAC 30th ANNIVERSARY
Taco Mac releases their 30th anniversary beers (made by Sweetwater and
Terrapin) this spring. Sweetwater's special Ron Burgundy brew premiers 30 days
before the 420 Fest mentioned above. Terrapin's beer boasts 30 ingredients (for
Taco Mac's 30th anniversary, get it?), and Taco Mac plans on serving a cask of
the beer aged with one extra ingredient (one more for good luck) at their
original Virginia-Highland store on Monday, May 11.
* UPDATES FROM TERRAPIN BEER COMPANY
Side Project Vol. #6 - 90 Shelling Scotch Ale. This malty brew should be
released in 22 oz. bottles in late April/ early May.

- Midnight Brew 2: Depth Charge - Terrapin & Left Hand Collaboration
(September Release). Terrapin has a date set for the brewing! This year Ro
(Left Hand's Brewmaster) and Chris (National Sales Manager) are going to come
to Athens for the big brew session at Terrapin. They will be in town on July
13th through July 16th. This year's beer will have coffee as a special
ingredient, and we will be working with Jittery Joe's on this project and will
be selecting a special blend of coffee for the beer. Jittery Joe's is going to
have a limited release of this coffee blend during the holiday season.
* MCNERNEY AT 5 SEASONS
As evidenced by the tremendous smile on his face and his new focus on brewing
creativity, Kevin McNerney seems elated to now be a part of the 5 Seasons
brewpub family. The former Sweetwater brewmaster and co-founder took on the
brewing duties at 5 Seasons Atlanta (5600 Roswell Rd. NE in The Prado) after
brewer Glen Sprouse left the 5 Seasons brewpub early last fall to pursue other

* TAMPA'S CIGAR CITY BREWING
Joey Redner, Petersburg Times beer columnist, grew tired of hearing from
Sunshine State beer lovers that Florida needed more craft breweries. Redner
decided the time was right to make his dream of brewery ownership a reality,
and saw Tampa as the perfect locale - due mainly to the city's rich confluence
of cultures and vibrant, colorful lifestyles of its inhabitants. "We feel like
we can express some of the essence of the city in our beers, which is why we
draw heavily on Cuban food staples in many of our beer recipes," adds Redner.
