Throughout the entire storyline... it just seems like Raiden's made one mistake after the next. I feel kinda bad for him... yet the same time I can't believe him to be so much of an idiot as to go ask Quan Chi for an alliance? You'd think he'd be smarter than that... and having him kill Liu Kang is even more pathetic. For a god, Raiden definitely wasn't thinking much this round, was he? lol.
