No. Nvda is all you need to install. Then hook your Apex up to your computer and press nvda n to get to the nvda menu and go into braille settings and press enter on hw braillenote. Before you do this, make sure the Apex is in terminal mode or nvda will just give an error message. After that, you can read what your computer is saying as well as type and control your computer from your Apex.
