It is. I checked and also I know it is named correctly because the apex works with my iPhone and the iPhone also needs the Apex to be called Apex and then the 6 numbers. What else to try?

Hi. I just got a windows xp laptop yesterday and had someone show me how to install NVDA. I heard you can use the Apex as a braille display with NVDA. however, I downloaded and installed the driver from the hw website on to the computer, hooked the Apex up to the computer with a usb cord, turned the braille terminal on on the Apex and set it to usb and then the computer made a kind of 3 beeps sound and said found new hardware and asked me if I wanted the computer to search for drivers so I said yes, then I went into the braille settings on NVDA and tried to set up the Apex as a braille display. It completely failed! I selected hw displays and pressed enter and got the error beep and an error message on the computer. Does anyone know what I may have done wrong? Thank you.
