You can write any kind of braille code on the BN, but you cannot translate grade 3 braille into print and you must turn off speech when you use grade 3 braille.

Subject: [BNU] Grade 3 Braille and NFB Newsline Question

Hi--

I am beginning to learn grade 3 Braille, as I think it will help
me type notes for high school, and then college, more
efficiently. I've never come across an option for this, but is it
possible to type in grade 3 Braille on the Apex? I don't want my
entire keyboard in this code but am trying to switch it over in
KWB documents, like you do with computer Braille. Or, would the
best way to practice just be to type grade 3 into a grade 2 file
(I know this won't translate well in print, but I will know what
it means)?

Also, I recently signed up for NFB Newsline. I see an option on
their site to e-mail an entire publication or a section of one to
yourself as an attachment. Does this come through as a Daisy text
only, or is there a way to get an HTML edition e-mailed to you?
Thanks,

--
Kristen
