[BNU] Re: Admin's Emergency Reminder: An important word on mailing list manners (cross-posting)...

Hi, the BCC field is called a blind carbon copy. I use this when I am
sending messages to some of the groups I am involved in to keep other
members addresses private. So if you put a name in BCC field then nobody
else recieving that message will see who you have sent it to and if they do
a reply to all then it will only go back to the original sender.

Hope this helps explain BCC for you and I am happy to answer any other
questions about this field.

I could be wrong - I never use bcc. I think, though, that a "reply all" will
include any bcc addresses, though of course the replier would not know they
are there. So, replies would still go to multiple lists, with the associated
problems.
