Hi Jane,

Yes, that is what I'd do. But that's just what I do.

So I should look for the date it was scanned and pick the most recent
addition to the list.

Hi Jane,

Very often the existence of duplicated books is that a cleaner copy is
submitted for approval to be added to the collection, but the person
proofreading the cleaner copy doesn't let the staff person approving books
know that it is intended as a replacement, so the original, less clean copy
of the book remains in the bookshare collection. Does that make sense?

If you come across duplicated books you can write to bookshare and let folks
know this. They do want to know, as only the cleanest copies of books are
necessary. I'm not sure what the best address to write to would be, but the
two that come to mind are these:
support@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
And
volunteer@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks for mentioning the problem.

Happy reading.

Mayrie

Hi Bookshare fans,
I know many of you are volunteers for Bookshare and I have only been
using the service for about six months so I thought you might have some
details. I often notice duplications in books with no explanations. The
first time I saw this I thought it was a volume one and volume two thing
that wasn't marked properly so downloaded both copies. I realized they were
the same thing in the same medium and didn't understand why it appeared
twice on the list. Since then I have noticed more duplications with no
volume or sequel numbers and presume they are duplicates as well. Anyone
know why there are duplicates? It seems unnecessary to me and was a little
confusing at first. Now I just ignore when I see the same title twice in a
list.

Thanks,

Jane Lansaw
