Every time I glance over the newly added books I recognize titles that were already in the collection. That means that there are a lot of replacements in process and the number of actual new additions is likely to be less than it appears.

Subject: [bookshare-discuss] new books

The suspense is high. Are we going to reach the 10,000 mark for the last 30 days. It wasn't so long ago that 2,000 was considered a very high number.
I just checked the site, and now, it is up to 9,952.

I continue to watch that figure. Even if it doesn't reach ten thousand, it
is still amazing.

I remember those early days of Bookshare. Many of the books were not in
good shape. The subject was varied, but many gaps existed in the
collection. There was a lot more nonfiction than fiction. Although the
history area was reasonably large, the selection did not include many modern
book.

Now, it is possible to get books on almost any subject, and I download more
than I will ever read.
