Let me expand on Julie's note.
It doesn't take a virus to spoof an email address. Most anyone with some
knowledge in configuring an email program can have it appear, to an
average user, that an email appears to be coming from whomever one
desires.
If you examined the detailed header info, you would discover, of course,
the reality; but most folks are hardly going to go through that trouble on
a regular basis.
So don't assume that because a name appears in the "from:" field that that
individual sent that email to you.
They may or may not have sent it to you.
