Wow, jamie,

Good to know.

Was also told that Advil and the other NSAID are considered toxic to pets,
particularly cats and that if Need to give a pain reliever or reduce a fever
to be very careful what you choose.

So far the vet has approved Buffered Asperin for Mr. Judson's arthritis.

Advil is an NSAID which is a non steroidal anti inflammatory drug. Of the
OTC pain relievers, only Tylenol is not an NSAID. Ibuprofen (Advil &
Motrin), naproxen (Aleve) and aspirin are all NSAIDs. NSAIDs relieve pain,
reduce fevers and reduce inflammation (like swelling like if you had a
sprained ankle).

Tylenol is only a pain reliver/fever reducer. It does not have the
anti-inflammation properties that NSAIDs have.

The benefit Tylenol (acetaminophen) has over NSAIDs is that it is easier
on your stomach.

Each different drug can also have its own set of drug interactions, so
different drugs will be recommended for different things, depending upon its
beneficial and adverse effects.
