Thanks Allison I will send John an e-mail.I am an elderly man who has recently lost most of my vision and have been involved with a low vision group at the senior center here in Santa Clarita. Most of the people are elderly and I have been reluctant to recommend Bookshare to them because most of them are not really technically proficient or affluent and they really need a low cost reader that works properly.
It is good news to hear that one may soon be available. Sam----- Original Message ----- From: "Allison Hilliker" <hillikera@xxxxxxxxx>

Hi,Bookshare is currently working on finding a new and better Victor Reader. To learn more, E-mail john.g@xxxxxxxxxxxxxBest, Allison----- Original Message ----- From: "L. I am unaware of any other daisy reader which is both free and fully operable. In the end I finally got a little program called text allowed MP3 which is available from next up.com for download free and costs $30 to register which gives a couple of more acceptable voices than the Microsoft one that is available with the free download. One of my pet peeves is that Bookshare has never provided a decent reader for their books. It seems that they could find one and, if necessary, make it available free or at a reasonable price. As far as I am concerned anything with the victor reader named on it is suspect. I have recently been considering buying a victor reader stream but the name just turns me off.Sam----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrew J. The reader was very unstable and I thought that by uninstalling it, and reinstalling it, things would be good. Well... not that good. I went to bookshare.com and installed victor reader 2.0. Now, all I get is send report button. There is an error each time I try to run the program. Does anyone have any ideas? Also, is there another free daisy reader that Ican obtain somewhere?
