I don't think so. the NLS protects their files with the requirement of a
key. Bookshare does it with digital watermarks so that if a file ends up
where it shouldn't it can be traced back to the person who downloaded it.

I'm about to get a second geneeration stream. I'm doing this with much
trepidation, given my difficulty with learning new technology. However, one
of my reasons is that should my computer go down as it did in 2013, I'd like
to be able to download books directly. I've been very happpy using the daisy
audio format, downloading with my computer. I'm wondering if I need to do
something with Bookshare akin to what one does with NLS with a new device,
getting a key or registering it in some way in order to download directly
from Bookshare.
