I just tried logging into Bookshare using Internet Explorer 11 on my Windows 7 PC. I always check the "remember me" checkbox so that I don't have to keep logging in every time I load the site. the performance is the same. When I first go to the site and perform a search I am not taken to a page of results but am instead taken back to the main Bookshare site. Subsequent searches work properly if I stay on the site. If I go to My Bookshare, the first attempt does not work but subsequent attempts work properly. Would other users who have some extra time mind verifying whether they are seeing similar results?

Hi, Miriam.well, for the record, I'm using NVDA along with Firefox 34. I doubt it's related to NVDA but it could possibly be browser-related. I'll try it with IE, just to see if it makes a difference. I do recall that Evan Reese also verified these issues. It's interesting that you're not encountering the problem. Would you tell me which browser you use?David Goldfield, Assistive Technology specialist --------- Visit my Web site http://www.davidgoldfield.info Feel free to visit my LinkedIn profile http://www.linkedin.com/pub/david-goldfield/12/929/573 visit my blog http://davidgoldfield.wordpress.com Follow me on Twitter http://www.twitter.com/davidgoldfield On 12/19/2014 5:10 PM, Miriam Vieni wrote:David, Could that problem be specific to the screen reader that you're usingbecause it doesn't seem to happen to all of us? It all seems so complicated with all of us using different versions of different screen readers. I usedto run into these problems a lot when I used Audible.com frequently. One of the issues I reported is the consistent issue where, when first opening the site, certain links don't seem to work the first time but they do work subsequent times. As an example, the first attempt to go to the My Bookshare link takes me back tothe main page but subsequent attempts to access the link work properly. Also, when I perform a book search when first opening Bookshare.org, the search is ignored and I am taken back to the main site but subsequentsearches work properly. I don't mean to be a pest but I'm writing to ask ifthis particular issue is being addressed as I find it to be a bit of anuisance. Admittedly, you can work around it quickly but I'm just wonderingif benetech is working on the problem. Many thanks from a very happy Bookshare member. To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank Email to bookshare-discuss-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Put the word 'unsubscribe' by itself in the Subject line.
