Well, Roger, I've looked around on the site but haven't decided what to do there. I don't rate my books as I said. Generally what I doo when I'm talking to someone is ask "What are you reading?" and I'm given an answer. I'm not trying to compare my choices with anyone else's preferences. I know there are places where one can vote on a book, but I'm not always in a voting mood. You know, I think I wouldn't mind finding a discussion group where one can talk about a particular genre either generally or specifically, but I don't think I'd last long in a group of people who only wish to talk about one author. How long can that last before I get bored with it? I suppose I'll have to figure out what I want to do there. Regards, Kim. -----Original Message----- From: Roger Loran Bailey [mailto:rogerbailey81@xxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, August 31, 2010 9:33 AM To: bookshare-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bookshare-discuss] Re: Library Thing Well, I write reviews at Good Reads when I have something to say and I do rate the books. I can't say that I either like or dislike rating them, but when the request for my opinion is right there I don't shy away from providing it. I also read and comment on others reviews. I have not participated in the discussion groups because, again, I only have so much time in the day. I do get the newsletters, but I don't find them very interesting. I think one of the greatest advantages of Good Reads is that it is a place to just keep track of the books I have read without adding another document to my hard drive. Besides, it is a place to look for people with similar interests when I do a comparison of my books to their's. If it is something you don't get into then it is just something you don't get into, but I am a bit perplexed that you indicate that you don't know what to do there. _ _ _ "Those who produce should have, but we know that those who produce the most - that is, those who work hardest, and at the most difficult and most menial tasks, have the least." - Eugene V.
