The Phoenix
Ruth Sims

Two young men, a celebrated actor and a conservative physician, find
love together in Victorian England. The actor hides a secret, his
humble origins and, he thinks, the murder of his abusive father. The
physician tries to run away from his affair with the actor by marrying
in America. The horrors of the psychiatric profession are explored in
this book. Compelling characters and beautiful writing make this long
novel a real treat to read.

Author Ruth Sims will be with us to discuss her books, including her
latest, Counterpoint: Dylan’s Story.

** The book is only available in paperback and on BookShare.org. If you
cannot obtain the book from BookShare.org for any reason, we may be able
to get a copy from the author so long as you promise not to share it
with anyone else not qualified for services for the blind.
