With my version of duxbury it writes out in braille the symbol's name. For example a + is represented by the word plus, a ± sign is represented by the words plus-or-minus sign, smile. I have Duxbury 10.5 which is not the most recent one. I wonder if the Bookshare one would do the same. Shelley L. Math symbols + - = and the divided by sign that you are talking about won't be handled at all by the braille translator.
