I have noticed this as well. When reading a long book, and knowing that I am on say, page 457 the Bookport tells me I'm on say page 98. -----Original Message----- From: bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Walt Smith Sent: Tuesday, April 25, 2006 2:18 PM To: bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bookport] Re: Page Bug Are you sure that the number of pages that the BP recognizes really _are_ pages? That is, there's no relationship whatever between what you may _hear_ announced as pages as a result of the scanning and what the BP actually _sees_ as pages. I have a book with, supposedly, over a thousand "pages" in it, but the BP only sees slightly over 200 and I've verified that this is the actual case. The BP determines what is a page based on the presence or absence of a hex 0C character in the file, not on print page numbers. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gary Wunder" <gwunder@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "Bookport" <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, April 25, 2006 3:09 PM Subject: [bookport] Page Bug I have noticed several times recently that I lose the ability to go from page to page and that a 200 or 300 page book will suddenly be reduced to a book which shows only 4 or 5 pages. Book marks seem to be preserved, but there is no jumping back or forward a page. Has anyone else seen this behavior? Using most current Beta. Gary Gary Wunder gwunder@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
