Hi All, With regard to maximum volume, I don't think it's a matter of giving up a feature for sheer convenience or whim. It's more a matter of avoiding significant pain in those rare instances when something accidentally leans against the keyboard and shoves deafening audio in your ears. This can be very traumatic with the right MP3 file with headphones on. I liked the idea some suggested of having the double beep feature on the volume control advancing the volume by 4 or 5 increments. As others have pointed out, I can see how the existing max volume feature is very useful for certain situations like testing headphones and the like. Why not assign it to something other than a single extended depressed button which is less likely to be invoked by accident. I really like the dialogue on this list. Great ideas and very respectfully presented. It's making a better and better product. I like hearing opposing views. By the way, I really like the TDK amplified mono speaker that others mentioned here in the last few months. I just got one from Amazon and it's great. It's small and delivers very acceptable quality sound for both speech and music. It's not hifi but what can you expect for $13 and small like that? It's also nice to have the BP concealed and protected in the case when it's zipped up.
