The only change I made was to replace the 64 mb CompactFlash card that came
with the unit with a 1 gb card, but it worked after that. I tried reseating
and swapping out the cards. The unit was connected to the PC and suddenly,
it was showing that it was not connected and it was dead.

Hi Walt,
Have you tried removing and reseating the flash card?
Did you make any other changes to your system since the BP last worked?
I bet there's a way to revive it yet.
