This is not possible, because there are no drivers with Book Port. If it were, we would have made it work with 98 in the first place. You're dealing with a different platform issue in 98. I don't want to run the BP software. I want to know if I can use the device on a 98 machine as an external storage device and, if so, where I might find a driver to make it work. I do know that the transfer software won't run in Windows 9X. This is from the manual and as it says "Book Port" and not specifically the transfer program, I think that it's quite likely the answer: Book Port requires the following minimal system: . PC with USB connections . Windows Me, 2000, XP, or later . CD-ROM drive . At least 64 MB RAM . 15 MB free hard disc space ----- Original Message ----- From: "Reed Poynter" <Reed.Poynter@xxxxxxxxx> To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, April 14, 2006 2:12 PM Subject: [bookport] Driver for the BookPort I have plugged my BP into a USB port on an old Windows 98 machine. I want to use the BP as an external storage device. Windows 98 can't find a driver for it on it's hard drive. The machine doesn't have access to the internet. So, I want to find a device driver using my Windows XP machine, copy it to a cd and use this to install it on my 98 machine. Is this possible? Where can I find an appropriate device driver? Thanks.
