Well at the risk of sounding like a broken record--I'll say it again! The bookport is the best thing to happened since sliced bread, (even better than that)! This week I got my key from RFB&D and started transferring their daisy books. The only word I can use to describe the experience is slick! Navigation in these books works the way you always wish it would. ... And then the new betas came out! I was able to scan The New York Times over my coffee just exactly like the sighted people in my life are able to do. Love the section navigation! Also appreciate the way the "8" key works now. And another heart-felt "phew!" from someone who has recorded loads of unintended memos! By the way APH: The bookport is my "it" machine--I.E. I use it for everything--daisy, MP3s (mostly converted books and OTR with occasional music thrown in for good measure), audible books not to mention text and HTML files gleaned from Bookshare, email newsletters and anywhere else I can scrounge them from. As a result, I probably go through at least two sets of batteries a week. To keep my wallet healthy, I use MH rechargeables and have never been aware of any problems. But if you tell me that doing so is unhealthy for the Bookport, I'll start looking for a lot sale on AA alkaline. I can't thank you enough for such a useful device which just keeps getting better and better! Fantastic work on the beta! Debbie Crafts Framingham, MA debbiecrafts@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
