Andrew,
I just use good quality alkaline cells; they run for a long, long
time and the battery status function is accurate.
Sams, Best Buy and Circuit City usually have economy packs of
Energizer or Duracell.
Enjoy your Courier; haven't had a moments trouble with mine in over two years.
