There is nothing like having your own wheels. That is probably why I bought a
bicycle with my first pay and why I stil have my bicycle.
Maybe Santa will bring you a bike for Xmas if you were a good boy this year,
nothing is impossible.
When I was small and they discovered the problem with my eyes, the doctor told
my mom, your daughter is blind, my mom said, it is impossible, she rides her
bike all over. The doctor said, according to what he sees in my eyes, it is
impossible. When I had to go to bording school, of all the things at home I
missed my bike the most.
I kept riding my bike till I was to blind to ride solo.
Maybe Santa will bring me a tandem bike, it won't be this year, I was not to
good this-year.

Nita, I have always, and, still do love bikes, biking, etc.
My first ever bike was a little DT50 on/offroad, and, while had ridden a
bicycle all around Pretoria East, it also opened a lot of doors for me, and,
from there I went through quite a few different bikes, ending up with both a
Suzuki bandit 1200 streetfighter, and, an R1100GS BMW on/offroad tourer, and,
yes, I never had a car driver's licence, since I just rode bikes all over the
country...<smile>
And, I'm honestly considering getting hold of my own bike again - both to be
able to ask friends to give me a lift on it at times, and, also to make it
possible to consider these little joyrides more often - I still want to, at
some stage, do a full lap of something like Phakisa raceway in Welkom - that
one partly since I still have a memory of the layout, turns, etc. of that
track, from back in sighted days when I did a couple of track days on it,
but, would definitely not bother getting hold of something expensive, fully
tricked out, etc. etc....LOL!

There is something about riding a bike. I did a solo ride once, I went about
ten meters and smiled for an hour. After finishing school, my guy, now my
husband, had a Suzuki a 100. We had lots of fun. I know it is stupid but I
have two exhaus burn-marks to remind me of those days. Wie went to the
movies, 30 kilometres away on that little bike. We loved going for a ride
down by the river especially after the Xmas meel, it settled the tummy
faster to make space for pudding. That little bike opened the world for us.

Wanna give me a lift?
I had 3 bike rides in my life:
The first was at the back of my cousin's bike. My brother was shocked and
crossed as those days only "Sheilas" ride at the back with a man in
front.... I enjoyed it.
The second was on a friend's Harley Davidson when he took turns giving us
lifts on his new toy. I was surprised at the comfort of the seat. I enjoyed
that too.
The last was at the back on a quad bike on a farm. I was a little nervous
as we drove on rather uneven farm roads. But I enjoyed the ride too.

Ag, it was fun, and, no, besides the one scratch on my hand, there was no
damage - and, yes, while had jeans on along with decent doc marten boots,
I had a decent leather jacket on, with proper armour inserts, and, a
decent helmet, and, was wearing good quality biking gloves when was
actually riding myself...<smile>
Stay well

Took a solo ride on a full-on off-road motorbike again today.
On the way to riding area - just off a form of resort in Magaliesberg -
we went down, since think the bike wasn't meant for two people on a
single-person offroad bike, and with no passenger footpegs, so think the
rear-end bottomed out, or something, but, no damage/worries there,
besides a bit of a scratch on my one hand, since didn't have gloves on
yet, but, nothing major.
Anyway, rode around an area approximately the size of a rugby field, and
it was full-on bundu-bashing - level area, but, fully uneven, and, ended
up doing roundabout 2km overall, riding solo with guys talking to me via
cellphone, and, only stopped off roundabout 4-5 times, in total, with
them just telling me to head roundabout 15, or 30 or 90 degrees to left,
or right, during ride, and, got up to second gear at one stage, but,
bike wouldn't coopperate then when tried to change direction, so dropped
back down to first gear.
Main thing was not trying to control handlebars too firmly - let them
flex, or jump a bit, etc., and maybe rather control bike with
balance/body-weight, or something, but, yes, overall, went well, and,
now, at just after 11PM, am still smiling... ;)
Once a biker, always a biker!
