Mike, I am glad you pointed this out as respect to Rav and memory. I have less memory on this machine, and with all the antivirus and spyware plus jaws and whatever else running caused the stream to go kaput.
probably most of you know this, but I wanted to use switch to convert the asf files to ogg but I guess you have to have the paid version. I find the replay converter works just as well for conversions of the various filetypes. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Pietruk" <pietruk@xxxxxxxxx>

Gary pc memory can and does play a significant role in how RAV and its converter may perform. Let me illustrate with today's wjr recording of noon to 2 pm. The recording itself was fine beginning at roughly 12:04 PM AND ending at around 3:01 pm as scheduled. However, the automatic conversion failed at the 25 minute mark -- not surprising as the desktop I have down here in Florida has only 512 mb of ram and I was listening to a U of fl softball game at the time, RAV was recording a show, ie6 was open, I had a telnet connection open for email -- well, you get the drift. Fortunately, I save the original recordings so I had Switch, which is one of my context menu items when I bring up the recorded file in explorer, handle the conversion -- and all was fine. Returning to the thread, wjr recorded flawlessly and a spot check of the resulting file confirms this.As one uses RAV more and more, you learn what to expect and anticipate -- and often different pcs work differently. It's analogous to recording with a vhs: most of the time, the tv shows set up to record, record. Upon occasion, they just don't for any of a variety of reasons -- my wife's favorite being when pbs stations do their fundraisers messing up starting times of shows, what shows run, and all the rest. --To unsubscribe: e-mail blindreplay-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with unsubscribe in subjectTo contact list owner: e-mail blindreplay-admins@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
