Gary

This is very interesting on several points.

(1) I record 2 shows from WJR and the originals are initially saved as
.asf and converted to .mp3 by Rav's converter.
I have the recording set to keep the original after converting.
Your originals appear to be mp3.
Your and my urls are the same.

(2) I have had failed recordings from WJR upon occasion as with any
station. The end results were either a .cap file or a couple of .asf/.mp3
pairs due to some form of apparent interruption either on the stream
itself or in the connection.

(3) A series of files usually indicates a choppy stream at the time of
the recording.
If I had to guess what happened, the stream wasn't up or was shaky and RAV
couldn't obtain a clean recording.

I just tried the wjr stream and all, at the moment, appears well. I, if
in your shoes, would see what happened on a subsequent scheduled recording
and, if all's well, treat what occurred as a fluke.

What I like doing for shows, such as Paul harvey which are widely
available, is schedule multiple recording sessions either at the same or a
different time in the event something goes wrong with RAV, the stream, the
pc connection to the net, whatever.

I have 2 sessions scheduled today with WJR: Glenn Haege from noon to 2 pm
eastern and the Internet Advisor from 5 to 7 pm.
I'll look at the results following the conversion and report if something
goes wrong.
oh, just checked the WJR sat schedule and I'll have to modify, for this
week, the Internet Advisor show to 4 to 6 pm as wjr is doing a schedule
shuffle this weekend due to MSU basketball.
