Hi marjorie,

It's usually just a quote in front of and behind the person's name, I think.

Sometimes the quotes might show up as apostrophes.

I usually get rid of those, but I'm not suggesting you do that. <smile>

Here is an example:

My name with quotes around it.

"Pat Ferguson' <pat.ferguson328@xxxxxxxxx>

I always leave the person's name without any punctuation around it, and I put a less than sign in front of the email address, and a greater than sign after their email address.

So, one doesn't need the quotes, and we don't put them in there, I think when people send you emails, it is already in their name before their email address.

I think it makes for a cleaner address book, without the quotes. lol.

Thanks much.

Many Blessings,

Pat Ferguson

Hi Pat:
Just tried it and it worked. In fact, you can find addresses by nickname or full address. A question though: I notice when my name came up some have apostrophes in front of them and others don't. What does the apostrophe mean although it doesn't affect the address.

Hi marjorie,
Marjorie.
I had to think about this, but the addresses that Eudora saves are really there.

Here is what I wrote in aprevious message just a few minutes ago. lol.

It really does appear in the address book.

You have to go into your address book with control L and arrow up to the top and select View by addresses. I can't do it, because I'm typing this message. lol.

Once you view by address, you really can find the address. I have even accidently deleted an address by doing what you did, Mike. lol.

Thanks much.

sorry, Pat, don't know that answer so would like it too if you can find it in your wealth of knowledge. Marjorie.

Hi Mike,

Okay, in that case those addresses are sometimes hard to find.

hmm let me think about that one.

I bet that Marjorie or someone else can come up with a great answer to that one.

I'll be back in touch.

Thanks much.

Hello Marjorie and pat

I have to confess to almost total ignorance about address books and lists. These address are ones that Eudora automatically saves once I have sent an email. I have no idea where they are saved. When I start typing in the "to" field, Eudora will bring up a list of previously addresses and I simply cursor down to the one I want and then tab to the subject field.

Mike.
