Sandy, each Eudora mailbox consists of 2 files with file extensions of .mbx and .toc. The default installation uses 2 directories, a program directory and a data directory. I just dump everything into 1 directory and do not have problems. You can find those directories by going to the help menu and choosing the about item.

your friend needs to delete the .toc files from the eudora folder then
restart eudora. this should fix her problem. o' once eudora is restarted,
she needs to press ctrl+w untill everything is closed.
sounds like she has the personalities opened under tools.
