Sandy, as I mentioned, in Eudora, go to the help menu and select the about
Eudora item. With the Window Eyes mouse keys or cursor, on that screen you
can see which directories are involved with Eudora. Then, in my computer or
windows explorer, navigate to the proper directory and delete the toc files.

I am trying to step out to help my friend; used eudora years ago. so,
please, where do you go to do this? I mean! Like, you find eudora, do
not enter on it, right? so then, how do you get to the stuff, or do you
enter on eudora, but somehow find the directory without going into the
inbox? sorry for sounding so dumb. thanks.

go to your Eudora messages directory, del *.toc files. do this with
Eudora not running, and re-start Eudora.

what they are referring too are the star dot toc files in your
Eudora message directory. If you delete in your Eudora all of the
star dot toc files, Eudora will re-create new ones which may solve your
problem. I wrote it out, star dot toc, which should be, obviouslyand higher.
*.toc, where t o c means to Eudora, "table of contents."
Hope this helps. The original installations of Eudora had both the
messages and program data in one directory, where with windows XP
and later, you had the ability to separate the files into program
data and messages' data because with later than Windows' 98, users
of the computer could be given their own user directory or folder
structure under "documents and settings under XP and under "users"
with windows 7

Sandy, each Eudora mailbox consists of 2 files with file.mbx and .toc. The default installation uses 2 directories, a
extensions of
program directory and a data directory. I just dump everything into
1 directory and do not have problems. You can find those
directories by going to the help menu and choosing the about item.

your friend needs to delete the .toc files from the eudora folder
then restart eudora. this should fix her problem. o' once eudora
is restarted, she needs to press ctrl+w untill everything is closed.
sounds like she has the personalities opened under tools.
