When you make that filter. If you tab around you will find it will let you
select the mailbox you want it to go to like the trash. Then you don't have
to delete it.

I've decided to fight back by automatically trashing any new spam that comes to me by creating a filter for doing so for any message based upon the information for making a filter for it. I do this while in the message summary list for the inbox.
When on the line for an obviously spam msg, not from a business with which I've given permission to communicate, I press alt+s for Special, followed by f for make filter. Since the filter dialog already has enough information grabbed from the message to identify the sender and the subject, I just press alt+d to go to the radio button to delete the msg to trash, then alt+c to create the filter.
Would anyone please advise me if there is a way to make the filter, once it is created, remove the message upon which it is based so the user does not have to delete the message manually after creating a filter for future spam?
