Hi Brad,

Below is an Email that I sent to the list a while ago. I don't know if this will fix your problems, but it took care of my problems and Quicken 2003 too. Good Luck!

Hi to any Jaws users.

I found that using Jaws 12 caused some problems that did not exist in Jaws 11.

For instant, when I type a name in the to field, Jaws 12 did not say the name of the person that I was sending the email to. I had to do say line in order to hear the name. The other problem was in spell checking. Jaws 12 would say the first misspelled word, but subsequent misspelled words would not be spoken unless you use the short-cut Insert+CTRL+6 (in the number row) to hear the misspelled word.

Well I think that I found the solution to both problems.

While in Eudora do the following:

1. press insert+6 in the number row to bring up the Setting center
2. type text in the search field and arrow down to text processing and press enter 3. Right arrow to open the general settings and arrow down to enhanced edit support 4. I found this to be checked. I unchecked it and tab to applied and press enter.
5. Tab to ok and press enter
6. CTRL+S to save the changes and press escape to put you back in Eudora.

Now, both problems listed above should work perfectly. At least that worked for me.

I hope that this will solve anyone else's problem if they encountered this.

Jaws 11 did not have this problem because the enhanced edit support was unchecked which apparently was the default. I guess that it is checked in Jaws 12 as the default.

The same check had to be removed in my Quicken 2003 application since split transaction window wasn't working right either until I unchecked that field. I am wondering how many other applications are affected by that field being checked.

Take care.

Thanks all. I too am using the latest Jaws. The one released today now in fact as well :).

Not sure why the issue. New is not always better. right?

Hi Brad,

I am also using version 7 under Windows7 64-bit here on my laptop without any problems. What screen reader are you using? I am using latest Jaws version 12.

Anyone else running the below:

Window 7 64 bit system
Eudora Version 7.1.0.9

I've noticed several issues and wondering if a reinstall, an older version or the 8.0 beta version is necessary. This I've noticed.

Junk bin. When right clicking on a junk mail and making it "not junk" it doesn't put it in the inbox. My old system use to do this which also trains your junk mail filter.

Reading composed message. When reading with CTRL Right Arrow it'll stop reading half way across the screen much of the time

Checking mail: The CTRL M hot key to check mail sometimes does not work but press ing ALT F then M does all the time. I know if fails because I'll watch the task window for mail activity after pressing it.

I have no customized scripts loaded at the momen as they seemed to offer other issues despite some really handy features.

I'm functional but these couple quirks are a pain in the backside now and again :).
