AI Squared is now offering Zoomtext Fusion, in addition to their existing
Zoomtext Magnifier and Magnifier/Reader.
From what I can tell, Zoomtext Fusion incorporates aspects of Window-Eyes into
Zoomtext to add more speech capabilities. This is not surprising, considering
the merger between AI Squared and GW Micro, makers of Window-Eyes. This is also
very much needed, as Zoomtext offers an adequate though not spectacular speech
experience, especially when using keyboard commands to navigate Web pages.
Fusion incorporates the browse mode of Window-eyes, meaning the Web will be
much more verbal for ZT users than it ever was with Reader. This product costs
$99.00 if you're upgrading from the retail version of Window-eyes and $999 for
the full version. I've heard nothing about a free version for users of Office
as we have with Window-eyes.
