Subject: [blind-philly-comp] Status of my Computer/Good and Bad News

Hi. My Dell Windows 7 machine is still in the shop and so I called today for a status update. I received both some bad news as well as good news.
Good news: it is likely that I was not hit with a virus or some other malware.
Bad news: the problem is mechanical and is an issue with a failing drive.
Good news: I will be getting a new hard drive. I was putting too much software and was constantly fighting for space on the system's 80 GB drive. I will be getting a new 250 GB drive. That is still small compared to today's computers but it will meet my needs and will be affordable.
Good news: they will install Windows 10 on the new drive, saving me the time and drama of upgrading myself.
It will take a few days for them to get the new drive. This means that I am still using my iPhone, along with an Anker keyboard, as my computer until I get my Dell computer. Even after I get it I will need to install and configure all of the software that I
use. This will be easy but it will take a bit of time. Therefore, my activity on the list will be minimal but I will post when I can and when doing so is needed. During the week I've been pretty busy and tired after work and so I probably won't do much posting to the list after today until the weekend.
