Oh, Lillian, you're funny. Obviously, your sense of humor keeps you going.
Sorry I missed you on Friday. I was only able to be on the call for
its first thirty minutes or so.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

Thanks for the kind words, thoughts, prayers and phone calls. I hope you are
progressing well also, Robin. I've begun therapy and seeing my nurses
already as of this past Tuesday. I've seen two nurses and both p-t and o-t.
All are pleased with my progress this time around. They were elated by my
sense of humor when I replied to their inquiry regarding breaking my only
other Femur. My response was "Guess my left leg was jealous of all that
attention the right leg got last time around. Hope it's satisfie because I
haven't got any more legs to break and not planning to break either of my
remaining limbs." Someone remarked on how fortunate it is that I'm not a
horse. I agreed because if a horse breaks a leg, he gets shot. That
experience I can live without. Smile. My o-t is so impressed with my
progress this time, he actually discharged me from his services since
there's nothing else equipment wise that he can suggest I get. I expect two
more new grab bars, one at the top of the stairs, along the party wall above
the new banister and one more in the tub above the faucets. Also, Yayo,
John's son-in-law's going to staple all carpet edges so shoes or slippers
can't catch on either the staples or carpet edges, providing no chance for
jarred balance. My own personal preference would be an entirely new carpet
runner along the hall between the wall at the rear of that second floor
corridor and connecting to the door sill into the master bedroom without any
space cut out between the hall and the landing, so that it would be like an
upside-down letter l shaped piece with no breaks, sort of like wall to wall
carpeting might be. Take care all and hope to see you all this evening on
the call.

Hi,
Lovely to see you up and about and home. I empathize with your healing
as I had an unscheduled visit to the ER myself in recent weeks. I wish you
a speedy and easy recovery (smiles).

Hi, David;
I just saw this notice. I was wondering if we'd meet a week earlier than
usual because the normal monthly meeting day falls on Black Friday, which
this year, we'lll be out shopping for new, extra grab bars and a gate or
something for the top of my second floor wooden stairs. Good thing we're
meeting tomorrow night for that reason. I'm home nearly a week and
therapy
has begun again. Amazingly, I've got two new, different nurses but the
same
two physical and occupational therapists. Perhaps this home care company
only has one of each of those. Just making an interesting point on the
matter that more nurses are needed than therapists. Everything going wel
so
far. Got my stitches out this morning from my surgeon. Thought you and
others might want an update. Take care. See you tomorrow night.

Normally, we have our phone meetings on the last Friday of the month.
However, since this day in November falls on Thanksgiving weekend I think
it
would be good to move it to this Friday, November 20. To participate, the
number and access code is the same.
712 432-3900
access code 391477
Time: 8:00 PM
I don't have a planned theme or topic so we'll end the year with open
Q&A,
whether it's JAWS 16, JAWS 17, ios 9, Windows 10 ... anything goes.
Also, the last Friday in December occurs on Christmas Day. We normally
break
from meetings in December and I think we should continue that tradition
and
not have a December meeting, as many of us are involved with Hannukkah or
Christmas events during the month of December. Of course, the list will
be
up whenever you need it.
Take care.
