Hi. What version of Openbook are you running? Can your Openbook read pages from another book or magazine? If not, this may help you. If you're using Windows, go to your start menu and choose control panel. Once you're in there, choose scanners and cameras and then do a performance test. It will ask for a blank sheet of paper and some paper with print on it. You could use your pages from that book. It will do a diagnostic to be sure your scanner is seeing the pages.

If that all checks out, you may want to try changing some Openbook settings one at a time. First, set your scanning mode to scan and read instead of batch. Change your orientation to automatic if it's set to something else. If there are still no results, try changing the contrast to light. Or try changing the text type from normal to dot matrix. You may also want to go into the scanning settings and make sure that the white on black text setting is turned on.

If none of this helps or if it doesn't pertain to you, calling Freedom Scientific may be a good idea. I'm nowhere near an expert. I'm just a woman who has scanned books for 16 years and has done a lot of trial and error.

Hi all!
I am trying to scan some pages which I know have print on them, but Openbook keeps saying that the page is blank. I've tried this with several pages with no change. I've also tried reinstalling. What else can I do? Thanks!
Allison
