A fake hold is a hold for "reader" or similar so that people who are
just looking down the list for anything to check out and immediately
check back in will pass over it, and so that it will get a propper
proofread.

Usually the talk of "nothing to proofread" means "nothing in my field
of interest to proofread."

Finally, the stripper is applied to your submitted books
automatically; you can't use it directly.
