Lora,First, I'm sending this message to you as well as both Bookshare lists, in the hope that the person who took the book will read this, and return the book to step one.
I checked the Books in Processing link off the Bookshare page, which allows us to see where books are in the overall process of being added to the collection. It shows the step one page, books out for validation, books awaiting approval to the collection, and those titles in the administrator rejection cue. Sure enough, the book is out for validation, and if you don't have it, then somebody else does. There is now a message on the step one page clearly indicating that the hold for indicator should be respected if it's included with the book when submitted to step one. And yes, I did put hold for Lora on my Palahniuk title. I will be contacting Bookshare staff to let them know that this has happened, again. This is the third time this has occurred with books of mine, four books in total.
Again, if the person who took this title, which was clearly delineated as a hold for title, is reading this, show some respect for your fellow volunteers and put the book back where it belongs.

Hi, Just a real quick note to say that I couldn't find Lullaby on the Step 1page. I did wait a few days, it's true; it looks like someone else may havegrabbed it. Not much to be done, but I thought I'd let you know. The book is on step one, with hold for Lora in the title field. He's simultaneously addictingand repelling. Let me know if you have any validation-related questions, orotherwise want to chat about the book. Take care, Scott ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lora" <loravara@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: "'Scott Blanks'" <scottsjb@xxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, February 18, 2008 1:49 PM Subject: RE: [bksvol-discuss] Re: current horror projectsHi, No, I haven't read any of his other works, though I did watch Fight Club, which was absolutely fascinating. I own the DVD, and maybe it's time for another viewing. Actually, I'm in the middle of watching an anime series, Rahxephon, which is an inspiration for the GM running our CthulhuTech game. We don't play on-line; we play in person, and the game is going well. I'm looking forward to our next session. I was a little skeptical that Cthulhu-like horrorcould be combined effectively with anime, but it works, and creates a verycreepy setting. The publishers of CthulhuTech will start selling the PDF on-line soon. I look forward to that. I rarely, if ever, scan role-playing books, as they are a nightmare of sidebars, pictures and other weirdness that can make the scan impossible to sort through. So I just eagerly await the PDFs now. Fortunately, the role-playing community has finally caught up with the times, and most games can be bought electronically now. I look forward to the validation. I should warn you that I'm a slow validator. Typically, I take only books that I want to read cover to cover. It makes for a better validation, but does tend to mean that I am a slowpoke. Lora PS: I'll respond to Lora or Nancy on-line, but only to Nancy in person. I'm not that subject to multiple personalities. <Grin> -----Original Message----- From: Scott Blanks [mailto:scottsjb@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, February 18, 2008 2:42 PM To: Lora Subject: Re: [bksvol-discuss] Re: current horror projects Lora/Nancy, Palahniuk's Lullaby shall be your baby soon. Have you read any of his other work? He's very good, and horror is by no means the only way to describe him. He's funny, disturbing, very media-savvy, quite tuned into the American/western society. He's the one responsible for Fight Club, which was made into a very good film, and in addition, another half dozen books.Your Cthulhu tech game sounds interesting, and I'm not usually one for theon-line type games. How's that going? I'll send you another email when the Palahniuk book is complete and on step one, which might happen today, or tomorrow at the latest. It sounds interesting.
