I'm sure E meant the actual book, not the preliminary pages as we all know that such information often does not scan well and is not required by Bookshare other than title, author, copyright holder and date. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Grandma Cindy" <popularplace@xxxxxxxxx>

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] books with first pages a mess

I must point out here that sometimes it's only the
first pages that are a mess--sometimes. I recently
validated a book that had been released because a
previously validator thought it was too messy, and as
I checked the first few pages I was inclined to agree
and almost rejected it, but as I went a little further
I found fewer mistakes, and as a whole the book was a
good scan. It was only the first pages that were badly
messed up--even the last pages, where there usually
are also problems, were o.k.

Cindy

I am
particularly
concerned when I read the first few pages of a book
and find them
littered with errors. Please read a little of your
scans to find out
how they are coming out.

E.
