Hi, Evan, I guess you got shanghaied by the deranged perfectionist crew
(laugh). Seriously, if it were me proofreading your book, I'd be
emailing you a lot and verifying text questions if I had any and you'd
be in mo doubt that your file was being read from first word to last.
After all, don't you think the author's work and your submission
deserves all the care a proofreader can give it and not a slapdash
approach? Wouldn't you cringe if it weren't treated with care? Regards,
Kim Friedman.

Hi Valerie,

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you on this.

After thinking about your message below, and talking with Lissi, who
agreed
with you entirely regarding your discomfort at my encouraging taking
proofreading shortcuts,, I wrote to Carrie and asked her to put The
Children
of the Sky back on the Check Out queue, and Ann Parsons has picked it
up.
She will read through it completely.

It was wrong of me to encourage jiffy proofing. I certainly will not do
it
again!

Evan
