Jake, Gerald, and the Bookshare team,

While I understand the points you make regarding the updates to the manual, it
is highly inconvenient for many people to go back and forth to the web site
when needing to look up/reference the material in the manual. Perhaps
Bookshare may wish to consider including the manual as an official book, which
is replaced in the collection whenever updates to it are made. Those
individuals who download either a DAISY or a Braille copy can go and update
their version when the update shows up on the recently added books list. The
web site cannot be the only method of disseminating the information in the
manual.

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Volunteer Manual as a whole

Hello,

A few of you have asked about a download of the volunteer manual as a whole.
I'll attempt to explain why we are avoiding that route at the moment.

The justification to not do that is simply that we intend to update the manual
more often with corrections and additions. Having it easily downloadable would
probably mean that more people would be reading and sharing their copies that
could be outdated. So to ensure everyone gets the most current and correct
information we would like everyone to visit the website.

Thanks,

Jake Brownell
