I mentioned over a week ago that I had completed proofing the book The
Garden of Ruth and it was in the collection. Debby Franson e-mailed me
privately telling me she'd checked out the book and was looking forward to
reading it. I asked her to give feedback on any problems she saw. She did so
and they were all things that I knew I had fixed while proofing. I quickly
downloaded the book and saw all kinds of errors that I had corrected. I knew
very quickly that I had uploaded the wrong file to submit.
I contacted Carrie and I have since uploaded the actual final proof and it
is now in the collection.
So, if any of you checked out this book before this afternoon, please check
it out again and get the better improved version. I apologize for the shoddy
version being in the collection -- even for a short period of time.
Yes, I have changed the way I save and name files I am working on so this
doesn't happen again. I hate to admit it, but I did this last fall, also.
The other one was not as obvious, but it bothered me to have errors in books
that other people wanted to read. I want to give them something as good as
they can get as if they had the book in hand from the publisher.
BTW, the book now has a rating of Excellent, whereas before the original
scan was only Good. I know there were people that did not check it out
because of that. I remember that Solstice Singer was going to check it out
but balked because of the rating. I hope she is reading this and will try it
again.
