A member has requested nonfiction book The Goldfish Went on Vacation: A Memoir of Loss (and Learning to Tell the Truth about It) by Patty Dann (and child therapist Sallie Sanborn). I read the PQ review. MS Dann finds out her husband is dying of a brain tumor and not only has to come to terms with it herself but explain to her three-year-old why Daddy begins behaving as he does. It's told, according to PW, in a series of vignettes. It sounds interesting to me--and except for the fact itself, doesn't sound as if it's too much of a downer in the way it's written. Hopefully no one of us will need, it, but I know some of you have lost parents--your children's grandparents, if you have children--recently--and in case, God forbid, anyone has a similar situation to Patty Dann's, the book sounds valuable.
